PURPOSE: To provide a user-friendly website in grades 3, 4, and 5 to aide the implemention of quality science education based on the NC Standard Course of Study.
KidSenses Children's Museum, being involved with elementary school teachers of Western North Carolina, has heard the teachers' pleas for a quick & simple place to find quality science resources.
After hearing of the Bryan Fellowships, a service project based grant initiative of the Carolina Center for Public Service at UNC Chapel Hill, Kris Jordan approached KidSenses Children's Museum. Soon after, the concept for NCKidScience.com was born.
In February of 2004 Kris was one of five students selected to be a part of the Bryan Fellows program, and was the only undergraduate student selected. NCKidScience.com was built by Kris and the Content Team throughout the summer and launched on August 17th, 2004.
Kris Jordan is a student at UNC Chapel Hill, Class of 2007. His primary interest lies in Innovating Educational Technology.
